"Setters Do It in the Field"

Finally got dad to take it to the fields!!! I was SOOO excited

We took the poodle, mostly for grins (he really had NO clue!! And in fact towards the end questioned if we knew what we were doing or if we were lost! Fool)

I had a BLAST!! We came home empty handed, but a good time was had by all, & after my (totally unnecessary) bath slept the rest of the Sunday away ;o) Wooo Woooooooo!

Howwwl-a-Ween!

Happy Howl-a-ween!! Trick or Treating isn't j-u-s-t for the 2-legged kids, we made it a family affair!
We were: an alien, a pirate, Donavin McNabb--when he was an Eagle, & a Scarecrow (Hey, Lisa--didn't we have a conversation last year about how this should somehow be a violation of the adoption agreement?? She done did it to me AGAIN this year!! Are you taking notes?!?)

Some of the houses were REALLY done up, this one had talking & blinking doorknockers on the gate, but I was a brave pooch & me & Mac sat politely on the sidewalk while the kids rang the doorbell.

We walked past spiders bigger than us, & that yellow one turned it's head back & forth. I wasn't scared of a thing, not even the gorilla who was handing out bananas! (but there was a little girl dressed as a big fairy who ran past & I got really excited about her wings)

The kids said I "belonged" at this house because of all the scarecrows on the porch! And a little old lady dressed as a Yankee player didn't realize Mac & I were dogs until we were leaving, guess she thought we were just small children ;o) We got lots of comments, & "what good dogs" but no candy, lucky for us mom brought along dog cookies from home!

And then we headed home where we looked @ the Jack-o-Lantern display next door. 300 pumpkins got carved last week & lots and lots of people came from all over Nebraska & Iowa to come see! It was a GREAT Halloween! Hope yours was too!

Nebraska Fundraising!

Saunder's County Lost Pet Rescue had a fundraiser so we raised a paw to help out!

I helped my mom talk to folks about the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program, she was doing CGC testing to help raise money for the rescue.

Then we all went for a 2 mile walk----it was NatNat's birthday! That's some of the family & me leading things off in my backpack!

We all got to take a turn on the agility equipment---mom says that maybe I can do agility for
4-H next summer!!!!

Boy, was I tired!!! Then we went home to grill out & eat cake & ice cream---Aunt Carrie even said "I've never seen Hawk lay down & be so still!!" I was even too tired to Wooo Woo when everyone sang Happy Birthday. A good time was had by all!!!

Swimming 101

So the Nebraska Humane Society had this fund-raiser where the dogs got to swim in an actual Omaha Public Swimming Pool!!!! $5/dog!!! So MY ridiculous mother said, "hey that sounds like a GREAT idea!!! Let's go & swim with the dogs" (I don't recall taking a group vote)

Oh GOD! OH GOD! OH GOD! OH GOD! OH GOD! OH GOD!

The stupid poodle made it look easy. Unbelievable--he looks like such a sissy-wimp with all his fifi haircuts & painted nails (he's a BOY) there he went, jumpin' on in after the kids & looking like a total swim-jock. (jerk)

Ahhhhh, the baby pool, now THIS is more my speed! Look! I can touch! This kind of pool-time I can handle, thanks 'bussy'!

But sure enough, I finally got the hang of it & look @ me!! I was swimming around & following mom! My splashes were less too!! It was hard work, I'm not gonna' lie I was doing eyelid checks 10 blocks from the pool & sawin' logs b/4 we got out of Omaha! ;o)

Thanks Illinois Birdog Rescue!!

Super Model!

I got to do a photo shoot with my mom & Mac. Mom wants pictures of the three of us for her CPDT press releases. . . .

It took two hours & we did LOTS of poses. . in lots of places. . .

Our photographer couldn't BE-LIEVE how "birdy" I am. (that's all I REALLY cared about, ya'll) so there were a lot of shots where I was looking a different way. . .

But sometimes the birds were right over the photographer & that worked out just real slick ;)

The pictures turned out GREAT with lots of photos to choose from (& these aren't even close toALL the "good" ones!) So wanted to blog how now I'm a 'famous' model-dog Wooooo-Woooo! And an extra "Wooooooo" for our photographer Carrie Drummond!

Helping Pack

What'cha doing with this big ole suitecase out? Can I help pack? Don't forget to pack me! See---I fit, right here in the corner!
What do you mean I'm not goin??!!?? No Dogs @ Bowling Nationals??!!?? I'm going to grouchie grandpa's??
VERDICT: A GREAT time was had by all over Memorial Day Weekend. Got to play on 5 acres with an outdoor kennel to keep an eye on those pesky rabbits. Hawk had THE BIGGEST smile on his face when he & Mac pulled up (in thier crate) in the back of the truck! And then he followed that grouchie grandpa around & was going to jump into the cab to spend even more time with him :) Just the kind of thing Bandie used to do. .. . .

ROAD TRIP!!!!

ROAD TRIP!! We're off to see the Aunties! The WHOLE family went, well except the cat & the rabbit---they stayed home. Check out our new digs! Gotta' LOVE Drury Suites f-a-n-c-y! (can I help you put away those oranges, bussy?)
Indoor/Outdoor pool (they had a STRICT no-dog rule, insert sad puppy eyes here)
We found a dog-park a dog park in town with plenty of: room to run, MUD, and good country smells---it even had a lake, which all the humans agreed was the coolest and cleanest part, me I like the squish of mud between my toes. Wish mom would've gotten a picture of P.Z. falling in that was the funniest part!!
My cousins: Phoenix Zen & Sammy the Bulldog, and ya'll know brother-Mac
Then they took us to a self-service dog wash b/c we were ALL covered in mud. I was less than impressed---I'm on vacation, man; Seriously do we have to do the bath-thing?? (the answer was yes) Aunt Duckie is like daddy & lets me be a lap dog on the bark-a-lounger. A Good Time Was Had By All!!

My mom has cross country skiis, so we don't let the 31 inches of snow we've gotten in the past 8 weeks keep us inside. Cabin fever you have met your match---> over the snow drifts and throught the fields on outdoor adventures we go!
I have to wear my orange vest b/c mom thinks white-on-white is a bad combo. What's that smell? Who's been here? Which way did they go?

Mom doesn't slow down for nose-body. Hurry up, cousin Sophie you don't want to get left behind, girl!! Just try to keep up with us long-legged boys! We LOVE Winter Sports!
